National Vibration Monitoring Ltd (NVM limited) was formed in 2004.
NVM provide hydrological, structural, and environmental monitoring services to Government services, the Construction Sector, Local Authorities, and Pharmaceutical Industries.
As a business, our company focus is only on the provision of high-quality service and the supply of instrumentation that is specifically designed to work and operate in the rigorous environment of environmental data collection and processing.
With over 20 years of experience in provision of monitoring systems – NVM Ltd have installed and serviced a significant number of integrated monitoring systems, this has given the company the portfolio of experience and ability to produce engineered systems across our monitoring system range that are:
- Fit for purpose.
- Engineered for site specific conditions.
- Installed by experienced professional technicians and system engineers.
- Have the necessary back-up to ensure that the client will get both the immediate local support that they need as well as the assurance that behind the local company there is a large factory-based support network that is in place to support the front-line team when and if required.
Our Expertise

Noel Carr
Director, NVM Limited
Noel is one of the co founders of NVM Limited and has been at the helm as Managing Director since the start in 2004.With over 30 years in the construction and service industries, Noel has been well placed to steer NVM through the trails of its 20 yrs of business. “Its all about the team” once the foundations are in place you can build and create something worthwhile and I’m really proud of what NVM Limited has become.
Bernard Burke
Associate Director
Bernard Burke has worked for NVM for over 10 years and manages the OTT Hydrometric and Meteorological side of NVM
“As OTT Project Manager, I provide a critical support service to new and existing customers to supply the most appropriate equipment for their requirements. Regularly managing projects from design and costings to find the best fit, through installation, servicing, and ongoing continuous support. The deployment and servicing of hydrometric and water quality equipment is a key element of the role providing a broad knowledge of installation principles and practices based on years of ‘hands-on’ experience.
With NVM as OTT Channel Partner for Ireland & Northern Ireland, we supply of an extensive range of monitoring equipment. Such a client base offers an expansive scope of requirements including level and discharge monitoring, data transmission and water quality monitoring.
My current role draws extensively on my past experience utilising extensive IT background, project management skills, finance knowledge and ability to communicate effectively with a range of clients and suppliers about technically in-depth subjects.”

Eugene Traynor
Electrical Engineer
I joined NVM in 2016 from an Electrical servicing & engineering background, with over 20 years in his previous post this background has helped him become the field service manager on site installations and servicing. Eugene’s nature to understand instrumentation has led him to being our environmental instrumentation suppliers’ main point of contact. Eugene’s at ease looking at bespoke options for installation and his hands on approach is legendary in the office. When not in the office he’s been known to be found wandering around vintage car rallies and helping on the family farm.
Ciaran Mythen
Acoustics and Services
Job Title
Ciaran’s been with NVM since 2017 and is responsible for our acoustics team and services, having worked in academic industiures for a number of years, with a back ground in data processing and physics he made the move to acoustics very comfortably.Ciarns enjoys his books and gaelic and he can be heard singing dublin’s praises around the office daily!
Charlie Smyth
Field service team leader
Charlie joined NVM team in October 2022 as a Field service team leader. Charlies previous career was in mechanical engineering service and transport making him the ideal candite for those round trips for installations in the West and South of the country. When Charlie’s not in the office he’s spending most his time with his family or under the bonnet repairing classic cars which he says is his main love.
Adam Lyons
Environmental Engineer
Job Title
Adam has now been with NVM for over a year. Adam holds a BSc (Honours) in Biosciences from Carlow and as embedded himself within our Reports and service department. To date Adam has picked up accreditations of IOA in Environmental Noise Measurement and occupational noise measurement and NISO Certificate in Safety, Health, and Welfare at Work. Adam has an encyclopaedic knowledge on every sport and is often arguing with the lads on the premierships best team… although his beloved Middlesborough may not be up to scratch!
Richard McMullen
Environmental Engineer
Richard joined the NVM crew in 2023, he’s a self-taught programmer with bachelor's degree to back it up. “My hands on experience for over 15yrs in the construction industry combined with my computing skills, allow me to work within many areas in NVM”With a passion for problem solving and a constant want to innovate and improve anything that I do, working here at NVM allows me to put those skills into action on a daily basis. When away from my working environment you will most likely find me racing the roads (in lycra) with my local cycling club in Ardee.
Cathy Dignam
Environmental Services
Job Title
Cathy has worked for NVM since 2012 and is the teams longest serving member.
Having majored in Geography Natural History at Trinity College Dublin in 1999, as well as adding Noise assessment, water quality, air quality and environment management qualifications to her bow, Cathy joined NVM with a wealth of knowledge.
Since the development of the Sonitus and OTT online systems, NVM customer base has increased and diversified significantly. Cathy ‘s current role involves gathering data remotely and producing reports on a regular basis. The requirement for Tilt monitoring and reporting has added to her skill set in more recent times.
Since 2020, NVM has established an in-house dust analysis lab ; From day One Cathy’s has played a key role in the set up and management this Lab at NVM.

Alex Balmus
Environmental Field Engineer
Alex Balmus has worked for NVM as an Environmental Field Engineer since September 2022.
With a background in Mechanical Engineering and two masters degrees in Suistanable Energy and Green Technologies & Business Administration in Construction and more than 10 years of engineering experience, Alex bring a valuable contribution and professional support to the NVM team.
Alex is mainly focused in the OTT end of the business working on metrological and hydrological aspects, which also helps him on his outside interests of endurance swimming and kayaking.

Conor Molloy
Field service technician
Conor is one of our newest team members starting in June 2024.
Conor’s background as an installation operations team leader for a leading network provider gave him excellent experience for dealing with clients and organising installations and customer support. Conor has established himself with our customers with his friendly, hands-on approach. Although we all understand that the golf is his real love, and that we are coming a distant second place to his practice swing!

Samantha And Mary
Accounts
Both Samantha and Mary are in the engine room of the business, working on the accounts and keeping everyone else online!
Samantha is the main office manager and accounts manager, while Mary works the administration of OTT and ensures all orders and managed swiftly in and out of the office.
