Overview

NVM Limited was requested to provide a structural and environmental monitoring proposal to John Sisk Builders with reference to the continuous real time monitoring of the Dun Laoghaire Bray Rail Line at the proposed development of a new Central Library for Dun Laoghaire Town Centre.

NVM Limited installed a series of independent monitoring instruments at pre determined locations on the Tunnel structure on the Irish Rail (Wexford Line) Dun Laoghaire, to monitor movement of the tunnel wall during the initial ground works of the proposed Dun Laoghaire Library Development

Monitoring

The purpose of the installation was to set up instrumentation which will enable the company to provide a real time (Structure Diagnostics ) monitoring system to the client and Iarnród Éireann, in relation to the Tunnel structure, this will provide constant monitoring for the effects of movement during the initial ground works and rock breaking schedule of the proposed works.

Pre determined limits were set on the logger and if tolerances exceeded an email/text alert was sent to relevant parties.
