PROJECT NAME: Lansdowne Road Bridge, Dublin YEAR: 2011
CLIENT: Irish Rail
NVM was asked to propose a monitoring system to aid with the stabilization of a live rail bridge in Dublin.
This monitoring was required during the stabilization and remedial works following flood damage to the bridge structure after heavy rains in October 2011.
The bridge is a single-span under bridge on the Dodder River, south of Lansdowne Road in Dublin 4.
NVM Ltd was commissioned to supply and install tilt and settlement monitors for the duration of the contract.
24/7 monitoring of the bridge was required during the works.
Daily reporting on bridge movement was done through a data logger which also triggered an alarm if tolerances were exceeded.
