Project Summary

PROJECT NAME: UCD Science Centre, Dublin YEAR: 2011
CLIENT: John Sisk & Son Ltd

Overview

The development consisted of the construction of a state-of-the-art scientific building.

Due to its close proximity to the existing UCD campus, environmental monitoring was required during the construction phase.

Monitoring

NVM Ltd was commissioned to supply and install environmental monitors for the duration of the contract.

The project achieved a BREEAM Excellent Rating at Design Stage.

As construction works were to take place quite close to existing laboratories used by UCD, NVM Ltd was asked to install a vibration system sensitive enough to measure activities in the laboratories.

Due to this requirement, NVM Ltd employed a Svantek hurricane vibration monitoring system. NVM Ltd was responsible for the monitoring of all environmental instruments. Weekly reporting was carried out on all aspects of monitoring.

Products Used

• Noise monitors
• Vibration monitors • Dust monitors
• Hurricanesystem

Testimonial

“NVM were contracted to undertake environmental and vibration monitoring within UCD science facility on behalf of John Sisk and Son LTD. This involved complex interfaces and monitoring within existing research science facilities, which were always performed to an excellent standard, for both technical support and on-site and off-site consultation. We would highly recommend them and look forward to working with them in the near future.”
